Bamboo winding will lead the development of the world bamboo industry

On December 4th, the State Forestry Administration Bamboo Wound Composites Engineering Technology Research Center was unveiled in Deqing, Zhejiang. The Bamboo Wreath Composites Engineering Center of the State Forestry Administration was established, marking the development of bamboo-wound composite materials into a new stage of development. It is an important measure for the implementation of the national innovation-driven development strategy in the bamboo industry in China, and will promote the construction of the “Belt and Road”. Promote the coordinated development of major bamboo producing areas, promote structural reforms on the supply side, implement rural revitalization strategies, promote ecological environmental protection, and play an important role in the harmonious coexistence of people and nature. The bamboo-wound composite material industry has the advantages of China's resource characteristics and unique technology, taking into account the ecological environment and industrial development, and has strong market competitiveness, which will surely become a new growth point of the bamboo industry and lead the development of the world bamboo industry.

Jiang Zehui said in his speech that the bamboo-wound composite material is an innovative achievement jointly developed by Zhejiang Xinzhou Bamboo-based Composite Materials Technology Co., Ltd. and the International Bamboo and Rattan Center. It is hoped that the Bamboo Wound Composite Materials Engineering Technology Research Center will be under the leadership of the State Forestry Administration. The development of the new technology of bamboo-wound composite materials and the realization of industrialization provide strong support: First, increase the intensity of the pilot test, continuously improve the process and improve product performance. The second is to accelerate the formulation and follow-up of relevant standards. The third is to improve the bamboo winding composite technology in the process of industrial application and expand the application range of bamboo wound composite materials. The fourth is to adapt to the development needs of the “Belt and Road” situation, and actively carry out international promotion, especially to provide technical support to the international bamboo and rattan member countries to promote the sustainable development of the local bamboo industry.

The relevant person in charge of the Bamboo Wreath Composite Materials Engineering Technology Research Center of the State Forestry Administration said that the research center was settled in Xiaoshan, Hangzhou, and is expected to be fully completed by the end of 2019. The establishment of the research center is a strong scientific and technological support for the research and development of bamboo winding technology and industrial development.
